Does the GB/WT now ,ever talk about 6,000 years of human history ?
by smiddy3 inin c.t.russell`s time it was supposed to have ended in the late 1880`s ,when jesus christ was supposed to have returned in 1874 ,and armageddon was to have happened in 1914 according to wt publications back then .. around about 1968/9 they amended that time frame to the year 1975 as the end of 6000 years of human history ,and they said in their publications that it would be an appropriate time for christ jesus to begin his 1000 year rule over the earth.. which would align with wt teaching that a creative day was 7,000 years long.. i think the book was "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " wtb&ts .
my question is : do they still talk about 6,000 of human history ?.
do they still talk about 7,000 years as a creative day ?

which reminds me--can anyone recall when the phrase " rendezvous for service" was introduced---late 60's i think. i know i was a pioneer then. our congregation servant couldnt pronounce it--so he called it " that damn french word"

by Ding insomeone on facebook is claiming to have reliable information that the gb is about to announce new light on the 144,000 -- that it's symbolic, not literal.. one person suggested that they will retain the two-class teaching and just change the meaning of 144,000. his idea was that the change would avoid three problems with the current teaching:.
1. embarrassment over more and more partakers at the memorial when the number should be getting less and less.. 2. embarrassment over 12 symbolic 12,000s somehow equaling a literal 144,000.. 3. solving the problem of running out of "anointed" ones who are old enough to be on the gb.. thoughts?.

remind me how long a creative day is now ? when i was in it was 7000 years. ( one of the reasons i stopped believing )

JW cars.
by zeb infor some reason former jw friends came to mind and i thought of their car how it was a mess of clothes, squashed food and other grunge.
they had adult kids who could have cleaned it once a while.. others had vehicles that never saw a spanner and another which rode the highways on bald tyres.. hmm a bit too spiritually minded perhaps?.
is auto neglect common out there?.

i once sold a mini to an elder--a cheap runabout. some time later he was prosecuted for using it with 3 bald tyres. he still kept his elder badge though.
